What is the free Pre-School Year in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)?
The ECCE Free Pre School Scheme gives children access to a free Pre-School Year prior to starting primary school. Our aim at Teach Leanbh is to provide children with the basic foundations of early learning that will not only aid them on their journey through school but will provide them opportunities to develop their social skills and intellectual and physical development. At Teach Leanbh children will be involved in programme based activities based on Montessori teachings and the Aistear and Siolta National Frameworks for Early Learning. Early education is so important for young children, particularly in a pre school setting where children are prepared for the formal setting in primary education.
Is my child eligible?
The ECCE Free Pre School can be accessed by all children aged between 3 years 3 months and 4 years 6 months on 1 September each year.
How can I enroll my child for the free Pre-School Year?
Teach Leanbh is a HSE notified pre-school and registered with the Irish Montessori Educational Board (IMEB), which makes us eligible to participate in the Free ECCE Pre School Scheme. In order for you to enroll your child for the Free Pre School year at Teach Leanbh, all you need to do is contact our office and we will add your child's name to our list or you can visit us at any time to look around our facility and speak to the owner Margaret Connell.
When does the Free Pre Year School Start at Teach Leanbh?
At Teach Leanbh our Free Pre School Year usually starts at the beginning of September.
How long doe the Free Pre School Year run?
The Free Pre School Year at Teach Leanbh runs for a total of 38 weeks.
5 days per week Monday to Friday
3 hours per day.
